Another way to enjoy the great outdoors in our spectacular weather is to chart your own course on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico! Many choices are available for the seafaring spirit, from chartering a boat (or captaining your own), to renting a sailboat, to exploring hidden waterways and estuaries from a kayak or canoe. You’ll see breathtaking views no matter where you look - an island-studded coastline, a family of nearby dolphins, and in the evening, the famous gulf coast sunset that has to be experienced firsthand.
The Imperial River Boat Ramp is one of the public boat ramps in Lee County where you can start your day of play. It is located at U.S. 41 at the Imperial River in Bonita Springs, and can be reached at (239) 229-0459.
If you’re an avid boater, be sure to pick up a copy of the Lee County Boater’s Guide at the Chamber’s Visitors Center. It contains a detailed map of the area, local boating regulations, and useful contact information.
Whether you decide strike out on your own, or go with a group to take in all the sights, you can view local boat charters (including charters for fishing and shelling), marinas, waterway nature excursions, and kayak and windsurfing rentals on our online business directory.
